Thanks Mike. Yeah, if you read the link I put in, the guy is still making knives & they go for big bucks but he still keeps going like the Energizer bunny. He's up there in age but doesn't give up, after all, he's the last of 'em. All the rest are making knives in the Ultimate Cutlery!

Steve -- It's the Blackie I got gifted from my daughter's father in law, and it's not bad enough to belong in this thread, but I'll take some close-ups and maybe start a thread asking for guidance step-by-step. To me it just looks like a cleanup and honing job.
    Just call me Harold

Harold, I don't think the guys would mind you putting it on here. It would be a great beginning for you to start restoring. That's how ya do it is by starting on something you are describing. If it is a C-Mon Blackie, it should be a very nice straight to clean up. You'll also get plenty of good advice here.

Notice the name change? Thanks to Glen for helping on that.
Thought the new title reflects what this thread has become, or rather was all along. Open to all beaten blades, not just the FBU's.
Besides I wanted to stop freaking out phrank when a new update was issued.

Been dealing with Cars, insurance etc all week so my blade work has been on the back burner. Got my new winter projects in so am getting ready to get busy.
    Cheers gents.

I did notice that because I was going back through it from the beginning, and when I then went to with a note about it, I thought...new thread name, or is this a different one?!? I'm not too slick in the morning!

    Great thread!

The thread title change did throw me but it makes perfect sense.
