I have seen this razor the past few weeks & he keeps resisting it for $250 w/o going down on it.
Here is what he says:
"Every collection needs a fully restored JOSEPH RODGERS to anchor a rotation. JOSEPH RODGERS represents the Heyday for Sheffield Razors. The blade is in perfect shape with a “barber’s notch,” which makes shaving easier around the nose.
lIKE WADE & BUTCHER, OR GEORGE WOSTENHOLM, JOSEPH RODGERS IS A SYMBOL OF SHEFFIELD CUTLERY AND ITS HEYDAY IN THE 19TH CENTURY. ROYALTY WOULD VISIT rODGER'S FAMED "iVORY ROOM" WHEN TRAVELING THROUGHOUT GREAT BRITAIN. tHIS RAZOR HAS THE CLEAR STAR AND MALTESE CROSS ON THE TANG, REGISTERED BY RODGERS IN 1764, ALONG WITH THE FAMILIAR "cUTLERS TO tHEIR MAJESTIES."
The scales are custom made TRANSLUCENT, BLOND BUFFALO HORN, perfectly fitted to the blade. THE HORN SCALES HAVE A GOLDEN TRANSPARENT QUALITY SO THAT IN FRONT OF A LIGHT SOURCE YOU CAN SEE THE BLADE RESTING WITHIN THE SCALES.
The wedge is DARK HORN and the scales have BRASS collars.
i TOOK THIS RAZOR OUT OF MY PERSONAL ROTATION. IT IS A GREAT SHAVER. tHE razor will come to you shave ready. Depending on the razor, and my mood, I will finish your blade with an Escher, or Belgian Coticule, (La Veinette layer), Naniwa Chosera 12k or a Welsh Dragon’s Tongue. "
Clear star???
Custom scales perfectly fitted to the blade. (doesn't look like it is falling evenly between the scales, in fact it looks like the blade is touching one scale.)
The scales look like there is a scratch going around the collar on the wedge end plus the wedge is sticking out the bottom on one side like the hole was drilled out of alignment on the scale & wedge. It looks like the hole in the scale facing the camera is centered & he does not show the other side so I bet on the side not shown, the pinhole is not centered.
This really had me rolling on the floor LMAO.
"Depending on the razor, and my mood, I will finish your blade with......................"
He has other razors too & they are ridiculously priced.
People will do anything to rip others off who don't know better or maybe they do because it isn't selling. I guess he thinks sooner or later a sucker will bite!Last edited by engine46; 07-23-2016 at 07:28 AM.

Thanked: 6I couldn't do that if I tried. What? Did somebody use a cylindrical shaped hone? How did they do that?
