That was a cut and paste, but explained it well.
Need to remind myself sometimes as to why ones better and for what,,
My neighbor was a ham radio guy, very neat stuff that.

I did a lot with radio in the military, as well as with wireless networks. It amazed me when we were able to send data over HF. Radio is still great technology, and the basis for wireless networks.

Saw these at an old Missile Site outside of Tuscan (I believe that back when the Cold War was at it's height that there was something like 50-60 of these sites scattered around the area).

It's all there but the missiles are just shells. They have a tour once an hour and when I rode up it had just started and their waiting room wasn't the greatest and it was way too hot just hang around. Hopefully the next time I ride there I can catch the tour.

RF will burn you if you touch an antenna while transmitting at high power. It can also cause internal damage to the body if you in its path or area depending on a lot of things. When the curly light bulbs first came out i found i could hand one on a CB antenna, transmit with 4 watts power and light the bulb up. This opened my eyes a little more about RF. When done and filtered properly its not an issue. But in the wrong hands and at high power...

I run legal limit power when transmitting. 1500 watts!

I don't doubt your info in the least!

An uneducated guess would be that as the newer sign said; the Warning was to keep 'Looky-Loos' away and I"m sure that there were plenty of security personnel on hand to keep anyone from getting close to being able to get anywhere near that antenna let alone actually touch it!.

For all you Vape guys. Here is a project I've been wanting to try. Fused, Stapled Clapton coils. This was my first. It took me the better part of two hours. The second time I made a pair in 20 minutes. I should have made them with 6 wraps instead of 5. Next time.
And for the guys that have no clue what I'm talking about...
One strand of wire, wrapped by another strand of wire. Twice. Then both wrapped together with another wire. Imagine two guitar strings wrapped together side by side by another wire. Two of these goes into my device with cotton stuffed thru the middle for wicking juice. Both coils together mean I'm running at 0.11 ohms on batteries of 4.3 volts and cooking the juice at 70.0 watts. Who needs ohms law. Ha.

I made five of this door recently. This is the only one hanging. I am waiting for hardware to get the others up.

That door looks great. Floating panels?

For a long time that hanging barn door hardware was hard to come by. Much easier to find these days.

We built a house several years ago and used pocket doors to maximize useable space. Don’t know why folks insist on swinging doors. These two options take up so much less space.
