I just wanted to clear up a few details regarding some of the claims: I'm not taking sides, defending or attacking anyone, just listing things that were read or said.

Regarding the whole DE blade fiasco with Leisure Guy, he was reviewing blade samples from barbera italiana: Giovanni a banned vendor. Connaught got caught up in the problem after circulating an e-mail protesting LG's ban.

Papabull was already banned once, there was a thread that was quite similar to the now "Custom" thread going on. If you read Joel's long post that was close to a copy and paste: the original thread is no longer around. Other notable posters included Lynn and Bill E defending RW. "Spend your money on anything but a RW: Maestro, Chandler, Ellis, Zowada, etc."

Lynn was banned from B&B, the publicly stated reason was that he apparently sent some nasty PM's. According to the mods, Joel was not the one who issued his ban.

Shortly after that thread was buried, a thread was posted on how to create the perfect custom: one of Bill's pieces was displayed.

Since then, Maestros and Chandlers have fallen from the list of good custom makers. Also, avoid getting a pre-honed razor by Lynn.

That basically sums up the events that have happened that I noticed were somewhat off when referred to in this thread. My personal opinion has not been stated, you can ask that from me in private.

Hello.......my name is Tanamack........and I too was a member at B&B

Hey folks, hope all are well. I enjoyed my time at B&B and learned a great deal about shaving with vintage tools and the products used with them.
My date was April 1/08, that was my 45th day on that forum. A mod, "GOOSEME....." felt my time would be better served elsewhere..for the rest of my life, but then, that same mod banned my wife, whom I had just convinced to start using a DE (NIB Lady Gillette).
The kicker, no reason was given for either banning.

Tanamack, your ban might've had something to do with you attempting to sell brush stands. I don't know the whole story, but I'm guessing that was it.

I know a lot has been covered, but I just wanted to say this:

Perhaps the admin staff should have a small meeting amongst themselves and ask this question. "Is insert mod's name here the type of person we want in an authoritative position?"

I say that, because in recent months it seems that the mod in question, is doing more harm than good over there.


Oh yea and if you go over there just to try stir things up, all you are doing is stooping to their level. So lets not do that eh.

I have to say I was quite surprised at the people that posted there with the intent to cause trouble.

I didn't comment on any of this because I knew it'd

1) do no good in the first place except to piss people off
2) Knowing that...why would I put my reputation on the line anyway?

I do find the way that things have been handled over there quite sad. Especially to hear the number of lifetime bans with no reason at all. But that's no reason to get mixed in with crap like that for me.
