Is that the shifter underneath the dash? It sure looks good, Mike.

Mike....You will have a foot-long shifter throw if you swoop a lever from way up there I feel.

Consider building something like this. He is going forward with his but same principle going rearward...

Yup, the increased throw from the top is my only concern as well Tom.
    That’s a neat solution.
I’ve got a hole through the shifter down at the bottom I was going to use as my target, keep whatever I fab up down at the root of the pivot ideally. Hard without seats or backrest to really know for sure the impact yet..

Tested my electrical today for the first time, on the old battery.
Nothing popped, or fried, and aside from a bad fuel light that didn’t survive the led upgrade things all work as they should. Even the new courtesy/door open, lights.

Waited till things were tested to decide where the bundles will run and the lower courtesy lights will be mounted to the back of the new lower panel. Everything is led now, in 3000k warm light .
Really like how the new gauge bulbs light up, they were very dim before.

I even turned her over via the starter. And yea, she turns still, albeit sluggishly on this tired old battery.
That red light means the alt is ready to charge, horns work, wipers, heater, rad fan, and even the Bluetooth amp is ready to sync!
Pretty happy things are moving along well at this last really custom stage.

Fat, nasty spark from the coil, Mike?

That’s still untested and unplugged Tom. Plugs are out though for crank testing so will be checking..
Oem gap is .027, whereas the msd books suggest twice that gap.

You are running that optical sensor? I would leave that gap alone!

Plugs I would go .045. Check the spark at the coil wire to determine if it's working. Time it with no gas at TDC before starting.

The spark plug gap is what I was referring to at .027.
Tried out the msd tonight, no spark from the distributor, but I could make the box fire from grounding the white wire. Very bright spark indeed!
Thinking I maybe had my optical sensor wrong, I reversed two leads and smoked the optics. Literally smoke came out as I realized the wires I switched disagreed with my thinking..
So,, new optics on order and I’ll move on to other tasks while I await their delivery.
Maybe into the door panels as those will be a bit of work.

    Happy Easter gents.

Put the points back in. White wire to the points. NO condenser. Set em about 15 or so. Rock and roll.
Points will last forever. very tiny current draw. I just know you locked-out the centrifugal advance!

The magic smoke escaping, I hate it when that happens to me.
