Thanked: 250Got the Wagner dutch oven out today for Sunday chicken. Double baptized in seasoned flour and browned. Then transfered to the Wagner for a bake at 350*. Mashed taters, chicken gravy, whole kernel corn, and pumpkin dessert with whipped cream rounded out the meal. The old widow women and divorcees love my cast iron.

I went to my once a year antique show and not only did I find five nice straight razors but I also found me a rare griswold 15 RN1013. I could not be happier and all for less than a C note. I was looking for a 14 or a 13 if I was lucky. So findind one of these was a treat. I picked it up and turned it over, I could not believe my eyes. Then I looked at the price and instanly gave it a bearhug as I knew it was mine. The picking Gods were with me on that day for sure.

Thanked: 250Today I got one of the #6 Wagners hot and made myself chicken fried steak. Golden brown, crispy crust, served up with a bed of rice smothered in thick chicken gravy. Roy and Glenn may drool now.
Digging through my stash of vintage cast iron and I discovered that I have a #7 BSR (Birmingham Stove & Range) skillet......no cracks, no warpage. A real keeper, this little gem is going to get cleaned up and re-seasoned later on. Roy and Glenn may weep now.

Thanked: 250This morning it started to blizzard here in North Dakota. By noon no travel was advised.....very depressing. There's only one cure for the blizzard blues and that's comfort food made on cast iron. Grandma Griswold and Grandma Wagner to the rescue. Tonight one of the Wagner #6's fried up some homemade pork sausage links and the Griswold waffle iron cooked a batch of vanilla/nutmeg waffles. Yep, TC I smothered the waffles in Mrs. Butterworths syrup again.
