Macaroni
Break macaroni into small pieces, there should be 2 cupsfuls, and boil into salted water until tender. Grate 1/4 lb. of cheese and mix with the same amount of butter. Stir into macaroni and bake like polenta (the polenta recipe calls for the dish to be baked in a moderate oven until the cheese is thoroughly melted).
