I never thought that there might be something better than canned peas/until I tasted fresh from the garden peas and new potatoes in cream sauce.

Frozen peas are close to fresh and I use them in every thing from creamed potatoes and peas to my Chinese Fried Rice.

    Here's something from my youth:

I eat my peas with Honey
I've done it all my life
It makes the peas taste funny
But it keeps them on my knife

I have some unlabeled dented cans in the basement that I have a hard time getting my wife to use. Some have gotten mixed up and she doesn't want to get three cans of different things. I have tried to explain the date codes etc. that separate them but to no avail.

Raw peas were a favorite of mine until I worked on a pea combining crew. 40 years ago and still I hesitate eating them.

To much of a good thing.

    My dad could read the stamped codes on the tops of the cans and he used a black grease pen to mark the tops like this;

    Peas: P
    Corn: C
    Green Beans: B
Asparagus was in much taller cans so there was no need to mark them.

The women who worked in the cannery said that it took at about 3 months before they could eat any of the produce we picked and they processed before they could eat it again/due to the day in and day out smell of the vegetables.

Do you know why Folgers Coffee is grown in the mountains? Because The Green Giant is Pea'n in the Valley

OH! And I hope all will enjoy.

Evening snacks while visitingf Estonia last week:

Meat balls, onion rings, various cheese and rye bread sticks, salted & fried in garlic oil. Dip sauces made of honey, garlic & sour cream. Very typical there.

We got takeaway tonight after travelling down from Aviemore. I had an indian mixed grill and the wife had some lamb tika.

I got complimentary donner kebab which was an awesome surprise.

There was too much. So I'll keep some for tomorrows dinner.

    Cool

Hmm, I like to share food and since I can't send you some to share, I'll spare you the wanting of ELK Fillet steak , Morel mushrooms and the Ambrosia Gravy made from them, plus the 75 Rover Kirchlay Auslaser German Mosel river wine, Deep sea Spotted Prawns(really rare), so NO pics as you would drool all over the keyboard.....

My usual meal is home cooked Red kidney beans with salt and pepper, I like them as much as fillet steak if you can believe that.

    Tonights dinner.

Thebcupboards are almost bare because we haven't been shopping since getting back on Friday. But i found a bag of meatballs in the freezer. So the youngest and i had this as the wife and oldest aren't here.

The mozerella i found in the fridge going out of date. So i chucked it on 😂
