Thank you. Agree on the light touch, should be like this. I chose to got he straight way and not wait any longer because of the irritation I still get with DEs some times. Of course DEs (and SEs) will still be used.
Thank you Grant. I may not got any serious nicks but my shave was no way close as your first one.
Thank you.
@ Robert: Thank you as well. Yes, all will improve through time and perseverance. It is very satisfying already though...Last edited by NavalArchitect; 05-18-2011 at 06:47 PM.

Robert, first off I want to thank you for doing such a kind and generous favor for me. It may be weeks before I really know which one I prefer. The Wester Bros. is a favorite razor of mine, don't no why, just is. And the Kobar is a great razor to, the edges are both very smooth and sharp, and have a real smooth feel on the face. I really can't make a determination yet, just gonna have to use them some more. And Yes Sir you did a magnificent job on both. Now I know what all the hype is behind the Shapton Stones, and the results of a Y/G Esher finish is. I like it to much ! Thanks so much buddy, and it really looks like y'all are having a wonderful time on your vacation, don't forget to see the Show Girls at least once ! LMAO !
BTW, sometimes I don't even remember yesterday

Two Passes to a Baby Butt Smooth Shave !
Man, I'm here to tell ya, these Original Auto Strop Razors are simply AMAZING !
This one is the second production model made with the push button blade release.
I've been toying with these SE Razors and have tried many different ones, Several
different models of Gem's, EverReady's, Valet Auto Strop's and Original Auto Strop's
These Original Auto Strops have major blade exposure, more so than any others
I have tried. Its very easy to achieve a BBS shave with just a couple of passes.
All I can say is not enough, if you haven't tried one ! Amazing simply Amazing !!!

Hot Shower
Warm Oil
Dirty Bird Scuttle
Badger Brush
Nancy Boy SC with Glycerine added
SRD Strop 50 felt 60 leather
Fromm, Maximized razor in translucent horn
Aluminum
Pinaud AS
Vaseline for men.
First str8 shave since last Wednesday. When I arrived home Monday I was tired so I used a DE. I have not shaved since Monday so tonight I used the Fromm by Max because I wanted to spoil my face. The Nancy Boy lathered up and provided great cushion and glide. The smell is so very pleasant it reminds me of being outdoors. What a nice shave. The Fromm, freshly off of Max's work bench, performed flawlessly. It is only the second time I used this razor. I can tell you it is just wonderful.
I have to return to Florida tomorrow due to my father injuring himself in a fall. He seems to be OK, but I'm going to head down to see him. I am not looking forward to spending more time traveling but its my Pops, so off I go.
I have to pack so I don't have time to take a photo so I used an older one. I hope everyone enjoys their evening.

Hope your Pops is okay, Jeff. We'll be thinking of him!
He saw a lawyer killing a viper on a dunghill hard by his own stable; And the Devil smiled, for it put him in mind of Cain and his brother Abel.
