@ Robert: thanks for your kind words earlier in the week, re the angle and approach to the skin with the straight you are correct; I'll work on it, despite only 6-7 full straight shaves so far I feel much more confident with it and -most important- I'm enjoying it very much. Great shots by the way, as usual...

@ rum: thanks, it's great to be joining the club.

A very good morning to you all.
June is here, birds are singing and the sun is shining.

    Shave prep: Face wash
Brush: Old unbranded boar, a gift from my wife many years ago.
Soap: Sensational Indulgences Juniper Sage, begifted with the brush.
    Razor: F.W. Söderén & Co, 7/8 frameback
    Strop: magnetic bench strop
    After Shave Splash: Florida Water
Notes: Nice and smooth. My stack of soaps from Sensational Indulgences is running out, and I'll be sorry when they're gone since they're no longer in production. Lovely stuff tho, as long as it's here

    Default Rule Brittania

An all English shave today, just to celebrate my new Polo Brush

    Pre-Shave: Shower
Brush: Simpson Polo 12, 2-band Super Badger, Knot size: 28mm
Razor: Marshes & Shepherd, 10/8" horn scales.
Honing Regimen: Finished on a Charnley Forest
    Strop: SRD Premium IV
    Soap/Cream:MWF
    Astringent: Alum
After shave Balm: Truefitt & Hill Classic ASB
    EdT: Penhaligon's English Fern
Results: A very fine shave. The Polo 12 was a very positive acquaintance. It is big, but thanks to the 2-band Super badger, it handled the MWF with a supreme ease. I've been wanting this brush for quite some time, and I'm happy it lived up to my expectations. Rule Brittania!!

Cheers Robert! Yep, it´s the 26 mm knot in two band super (or finest/best quality silvertip, Peter´s using the same grading system as Simpsons, if I remember correctly) and I think it´s brilliant and for the money it´s a bargain, in my book.

That razor haunts my dreams, it´s lovely... I do understand that you didn´t want to trade when it was all new, but maybe now

Wow! Looks like a superb shave, fonthunter. If it was as good as your photo, then I'm jealous

Unfortunately for me, I've developed some form of hayfever and the CF Lavender is causing me to sneeze and my eyes to water. So, I've stick with the equally good Lime Oil and the 1445 (which is still under test).

    Pre-Shave: Shower
Brush: Simpson Chubby 2, 2-band Super Badger
Razor: Joe Chandler 7/8 Barber's Notch
    Strop: Kanayama
Soap/Cream:La Toja Manantiales + AOS Unscented + Glycerin
    Astringent: Thayers Lavender
    After shave Balm: Cade
    EdT: Dunhill 1934
Results: Another fantastic custom worked its magic. I'd heard tales of how impeccable Joe Chandler's work was, so I had to seek one of his masterpieces out. This arrived yesterday, and I could hardly wait to try it. Of course I was still nearly BBS from yesterday's shave, so I was worried how this gorgeous piece of steel would handle things. I changed things up by doing an uber with the La Toja; what was an incredible lather before became simply divine! And this little whisker assassin managed to seek out and find every last strand of facial hair. Once again, I am BBS and my face feels FABULOUS! I finished it off with a classic - Dunhill, and I'm ready for my last day of work before our two-week long vacation!

Prep: Hot Shower, Baby Oil Gel
    Razor: Lecran Cutlery (FNG)
    Brush: Omega Boar
    Soap: Mitchell's Wool Fat
    AS: Aqua Velva Classic
    Finish: Pierre Cardin

Great shave. The edge on this razor is not quite as crisp as I prefer but it seems to render a pretty good shave just the same. It's far from being dull, just needs some polishing up to make for a really crisp edge. I know, you haven't seen the phalic Pierre Cardin bottle since the 80's but PC is a scent I like to pull out time to time.

The older I get, the better I was
