Did you leave the cane there or toss it out the window on the drive home :-)

I had a doctor's appointment before physical therapy. He said the leg was healing nicely and noted significant bone growth. He said my leg was fit for full weight bearing and I no longer needed a cane. Range of motion is still not great but I suspect physical therapy will take care of that.

Of course this is nowhere near the PT regimen I was doing at the time of the accident but being able to get up and walk around and even do the benign low impact, low intensity stuff is a major leap forward. As the leg gets stronger I will of course pick up the routine but for now getting my range of motion back and just being active again is a critical first step. It will no doubt take time to get back to where I was but considering that less than 12 weeks ago I couldn't get out of bed to go pee I'm pretty pleased with my progress.

I've never taken to running on treadmills, even in the dead of winter. Kind of like indoor bike trainers, I have one in my garage which has never been used.

Went out with the crew this morning before work and did a 30km road ride.

I'll take door #2 . I think my one big walk away from the whole experience is STAY ACTIVE. I don't mind getting older but being a crippled old man slowly dying from inactivity would be completely intolerable. When everything is back to normal I plan to bring my PT up to freakish new notches

I'm not a fan of treadmills, but with the winters here touching -30, some of my runs will have to be indoors. I might think about going somewhere with an indoor track. But I will probably do my long runs outside regardless to prep for race day conditions.

Hill run today, on a new and longer hill, so less laps, but same distance. Also, moving hills changed my warm up/cool down run distance. Only 9km today, 2k warm up, 5k hills, 2k cool down. Rest Day tommorow, going to check out the local metal art expo.

WOW, that is damn cold. I'm not surprised you make use of a treadmill. Coldest I've run in is -15 at a 52km trail run in and around the village of Rhodes in 2008.

Good job on the 60's, that's a lot of iron to curl.
How many reps do you do with that?

Between -12 and -25 it doesn't feel much different. We do take pride in our insanity, even have a badge for it:

    AGHHHHHH!!!!!! not yet.

I had ice on my windshield yesterday. I refused to scrape it since it is still technically summer, so I ended up using a half jug of washer fluid melting it.
