Today was the first of what will be regular "Water Wednesdays". Not bad for a first go but as expected water is indeed the great equalizer. After nearly four months of run and bike training, aerobically I'm in decent shape but swimming is a whole other ball game. I'm starting with 30 min continuous swims. This morning, even though the pace was fairly easy, it didn't take long for my upper body to tire and I got a bit of rabbit heart/gasping for breath. The swims will get better I'm sure. It's been years since I swam like that so first I'm not used to using my upper body that much and second, my stroke efficeincy probably sucks. Nonetheless, I'll make it a regular Wednesday date and hope to be up to an hour swim in a month or so. I'm sure when the oppressive heat of summer arrives it will be a welcome break from running or biking in the heat and humidity.

I plan to take a short bike ride after work.

Sound like your fitness regime is really coming along, Michael!

I did some top rope soloing for the first time yesterday as well as some bouldering. I must say top rope soloing is going to open up a whole bunch of possibilities. I've been top roping a few times but it's hard sometimes to organise a partner...

Stranger, if you passing meet me and desire to speak to me, why should you not speak to me? And why should I not speak to you?

Went solo top roping yesterday and solo top roping today. It's very difficult taking a selfie while hanging on a rope on a cliff face...

I found MapMyRide sucked the power from my phone. I switched to Sports Tracker and find it a great app; easy, free, not too many bells and whistles...

Changed up my last few workouts to a full body routine, based on Golden Age Era 1940-1970 'natural' bodybuilders. These workouts delivered results with 3 workouts a week, working every body part with heavy compound lifts each day, with a day in between for recovery. Getting tired of the same old "split routine". Today's workout:

-Bench Press: 4 sets, 8 reps
-Lat Pull Downs: 3 sets, 10 reps
-Standing Military Press: 3 sets, 10 reps
-Barbell Curls: 3 sets, 10 reps
    -Squats: 4 sets, 10 reps
-Weighted Standing Calf Raises: 3 sets, 12 reps
-Leg Extensions: 3 sets, 15 reps

I'm just heading out to the gym...it's either chest or back and biceps today...then a good long walk around the track and hopefully watch the advanced women's aerobics....sheesh I'm a pig, but as a pig, I feel I'm maturing.

Have to admit, love the gym...feel clear bodied and clear headed afterwards - always!

Yes, it's a very refreshing feeling after a workout. I feel sluggish and guilty if I miss one! Enjoy your time in the gym today, and at the track.
