Tonight's a rest night but last night I did sets of push ups on the gymnastic rings; not very impressive, I did this:

    Reps 10, 10, 10, 10, 7, 7, 7, 7, 7
A minute and a half between sets
    total time 20 minutes

Wednesday night I did some bouldering at Rocky Paddock until 8:30 at night, which is just on dark here at the moment in late summer.

Did the standard Sunday ride this morning. It's about 25 miles round trip. Of course once I get to the beach I dismount the bike and see what I can see. Yesterday the weather was a bit like the UK in early spring (steady drizzle, very gray and just not real good weather for anything). Fortunately it seems to have let up for my bike ride. It was a beautiful day to be outside even though it was still a bit windy and cloudy.

My efforts to get healthy seem to be paying off. I'm dropping weight like a champ and my blood glucose has been normal for the entire month of February. I've dropped a total of 18 pounds since 12/10/14. I've still got plenty left to lose but I'm quite pleased to be getting my legs under me again and I feel about 500% better than I did only a few months back. There might just be something to this watch what you eat and go outside and play five days a week program. I do three runs and two bike rides a week. The runs are pushing five miles pretty good.

    Pics from today's ride:

The older I get, the better I was

Wow, wish I could exercise near the ocean...

    1OldGI, Nice photos. I'm envious.

In a couple of minutes I am off to meet with some Exercize Science students who will be designing a workout program for me.

Not quite today's workout but it was yesterday evening's.

Was in a group and we were doing circuits.
    1. squats, with 20kg jerry can
    2. push ups, one arm raised up off the floor
    3. knees to chest jumps, on a nice thick crash mat
    4. bending forward at hips and standing straight again, with 20kg jerry can
    5. shoulder press, with 20kg jerry can
    6. side to side jumps over jerry can
    7. walk with one 20kg jerry can in each hand
    8. sideways bend and raise back up, with 20kg jerry can (I did know the name for this but it escapes me right now)
    9. 1st circuit - 150m sprint with 20kg jerry can. 2nd circuit - 300m sprint with 20kg jerry can

Half an hour after this I had a personal fitness assessment. We were stopped at level 10.2 on the bleep test, I managed 65 press ups and 74 sit ups (more than enough for me to pass)

Didn't get to gym but mowed lawn & that's quite the workout. Sore back & legs from mower & sore traps, forearms & biceps from whipper snipper.
Was a good couple of hours of cardio.

I've had a busy few days!

Bouldering for two hours on Saturday,
Bouldering for two hours on Sunday, then a little bit of yoga and stretching in the sun
    10 k bike ride today...

I have my bouldering comp on Sunday so I need to organise myself. I think weights (chest/triceps) and gymnastic rings tomorrow nights, only a really light bouldering session on Wed, and weights (back/biceps) and gymnastic rings on Thurs. Maybe a bike ride Friday night.

Had my bouldering comp today, didn't really do TOO well. I didn't feel very strong for some reason...

Came third (in a three horse race - again), in the masters (i.e. old peoples') category but at least this old horse is still running... :-)
