Thanked: 1185Easy workout today. I paced my grandson on his morning run probably only a mile or so. Tomorrow I'll take the bike to my physical therapy appointment (about 12 miles round trip)
The older I get, the better I was

Thanked: 983Short bike ride today. Just 14kms. But it was at top maintainable speed all the way. Including the hilly bits. If I could only achieve a slow pace on the uphill, it was the fastest I could manage while mentally flogging the 'horse' to go faster. I'm still having trouble on shaving meaningful times off on these rides though. I can't figure out why I can't even though I feel faster.

One of the things I've noticed with improved fitness from bike riding, is that your perceived effort doesn't really change because all that happens is that you are effectively getting faster. So while you're saying to yourself, you're not getting quicker, you actually are.
