It's still a cool little compact kit--plus it came from a friend.

Well..... Back to the bone-scaled Sommer.

I took mine and Razorfeld's sage advise and decided that since these scales are fancy I would go with the fancy collars.
Besides, I have a pile of razors waiting for Austin's regular silver collars.

I posted the razor on Custom builts and restorations as I got it honed.

Yep.! It was from a time before twist off's, for bottles, and a time of pull tabs , for cans. Remember opening your can o beer with the pointed end of a can opener.?!

You know, back when I was a kid I was on a beach in the Caribbean and there was a family there who clearly lived on the island. It was a mom, dad, some kids and someone I thought might be grandma. One of the kids hauled a bottle of soda out of the cooler and handed it to grandma. And she opened it with her teeth.

All these years later I still get all skeeved out when I remember that.

Good choice - it looks great!

It was in original condition, faded red, well-worn, but nice.
This was and still is my favorite combination; beautiful, original, and worn.

Yes, absolutely, the choice of scales with the Sommer 14 is like peas & carrots! I love those scales Shaun made up. They look as if they belong on a vintage blade.
