Gonna wait a day for the epoxy to set on the SatinWedge scales. But just about done with them, quick sanding to clean up and excess epoxy cause I'm a slob and got it everywhere 'per usual. Will post close ups when it's all pinned and polished.

Then to turn my attention to the little prick that is the Wonderedge. Pretty sure I caught it in the process of off gassing, so it's next in the line up. I have this unknown Japanese razor I was gonna work on, but seeing this one decided to rear it's ugly teeth. She's getting sorted out first. It should be noted that all my original ducks have been quarantined from the rest of my razors. Just in case it decided to spread. Now to the razor/scales. The razor had the little dark pin holes that I've read about starting to form. Then around the pivot pin I noticed little dark pin spots starting to form. Not 100% positive it's off gassing but I wasn't taking the chance. The scales are gonna be legit I think. Australian Mallee Burl hybrid scales, with a 'nebula' epoxy' pour. It has this like shimmer effect from the glitter. It's gonna look ridiculous when I'm finished with it. Finishing will be a full CA finish, polished up to glass. I haven't seen any other straight scales made in this sort of material. Pretty proud of my very one of a kind duck collection. This has been years in the making, and am really excited to start seeing my vision for them start coming to fruition. P.S.- I realize the market for Ducks right now is shenanigans, so missing out on a fair bit of money by not just selling them.

    What he said.
The thought part with any corrosion on those blades is that they are so thin you cannot do much sanding. Fortunately is doesn’t look like there is much damage.

You got me thinking about the one Duck I have so I checked it and it's still good. A scary thought as mine is in a drawer with 11 other razors. I will be watching to see how those scales turn out. I've been thinking of doing some of those epoxies pours for turning projects, but just haven't gotten around to it.

Yeah Shaun I'm really glad I caught it. Imagine what it'd look like if it was left in a box for a year or so. It woulda been toast for sure. I plan on a very light sanding with like 1200 grit or something, sanding extra hollows is super sketch for sure. And those will be the only pictures of the scales till it's done. I'm copying mike, and leaving it for a surprise.

P.S.-The goldedge is next in line. I'm not playing with these ducks anymore. No freaking cell rot is gonna ruin my razors dang it!!

Progress on the pointy stick project. The beveling is done. In hindsight, i should not have done the tang first, but we live and learn. Overall, I am not unhappy. The beveling went well enough, and the blade is straight. Next is to clean up the transition to the tang and then heat treatment. At this point it's 66cm end to end. The curvature in the middle is 3 cm.

SatinWedge is finished and is off to the hones. Really happy with how this one turned out. The camera didn't pick up the iridescence that well. But you can see it in the reflection pretty good. Happy shaves gentlemen.
