I have some I soaked 'til white of ivory. Want to put some patina evenly back in, I think.
Have a used tea bag and a filter of used coffee in the freezer.
Experiment for me, willya?"Don't be stubborn. You are missing out."
I rest my case.

Lookin' good Matt. They look like bone to me when I first looked at post 3757. I then looked at the link & they are definitely bone with the small dark lines in the grain.
I'm working on putting my masonic Frederick Reynolds back together, then I have more razors & horn scales that need repair.Last edited by engine46; 06-10-2016 at 05:08 AM.

So last night i threw about 2 tbs of light roasted barley in a few inches of water and let it cold steep overnight. This evening ill strain out the grains and drop the bone in there. The barley produces a very coffee like color. Had some darker malts laying around but didn't want to over stain. Home brewing meets razoring..

Thanked: 2591Here is one finished yesterday. Pitting left on the blade as it is too hollow to remove much steel. Satin finish with a bit of crocus mirroring. Tang and spine are mirrored a bunch more. Before and after
