Thread: What are you working on?

Many old razors had stacked collars. The things were stamped from light, soft brass or silver. They kept their shape better and stacking two made for a nicer, stronger collar. In fact, many German razors have double-stacks at the pivot end only.
Then, there are triple stacks!

Pretty much finished inlaying the wire (far from high end but rather some sort trench art) for one scale just to realize I omitted the space for washers. As I have no intention to start over again I'll drill the holes through and position the washers as needed. The question is what washers should I go for. I know French razors have mostly plain washers. Bearing in mind the panels are going to be ornate/carved, I think some ornate washers should fit just fine. i tend to go for "D" washers as I find the "A" ones a bit too large.

D is a fine choice. That will look outstanding and compliment the your work!

Those look like bead caps, nice! I like E, the smaller ones with the thin line of the wire. Nice job on this

I vote for E, I think it will blend really well if you are able to place the pivot and wedge pins to line up with the inlays. Plus, it will probably allow you to keep the corners that I'm sure were not easy to accomplish.

I had the same idea as Tom. I think he's saying what I was thinking, a larger one "D" on the wedge end & a smaller one "E" at the pivot.
