Got some work done on the Hess. The blade faces got a satin finish and the spine is polished to match how it originally was. Now it's ready for re-blueing on the tang and tail, then red paint in the letters. I put it on the king 1k to see about setting a bevel and it took a nice clean edge no problems. I like to tape a popsicle stick to the tang when honing blades with no scales.

The blades looking good tuzi. Why hone it before you have scales on it? I'd be worried about messing up the edge while fitting the scales.

Thanks! I just wanted to set a bevel at 1k and take a look under magnification to see if the edge was ok. I'm leaving the rest of the progression for after it's all put together. If something happens to the edge in the process of pinning I will just hit the 1k again knowing there is good steel there.

Linked belts significaly reduce vibration and noise and last for a very long time.
