    You're right, it was a really nice shave. I've been using a bigger Spanish 14, pretty heavy, so I'd forgotten how agile these little 5/8 razors can be.

    My pictures aren't good enough to show it but I think this is celluloid imitation ivory. The "grain" is uniform, unidirectional, and looks like a picture of imitation ivory, with none of the chevron shapes people describe in ivory.

    My only complaint about this little guy is that the jimping is only on the bottom of the tang -- it slipped around a little when I was shaving with it this morning. I might try adding some with a file/Dremel/something.

    Pinned up mints, Imp, tonight.
    Was able to file the wedge back far enough to give the blade, ample clearance for opening, and closing.

    After painting in the tang, and scales, i
    pinned it with nickle silver rod, and domed brass washers.

    And the scales came out quite nice, compared to what they were.

    How long they last.... God only knows.
    hehe...used a set of Shrinker's for a shorty project myself.
