    Well THATis a relief!

TBH, I don't think it is bad enough for dragging it off the edge of the stone....

Take that Browne and Sharpe STRAIGHTEDGE and check your other razors. Might be surprised!

Yes, we all remember what happens when you think you'll just bend the razor just a little, just a little can't hurt, and then....you have the razor I have sitting downstairs, wounded, but still alive.

Spent most of the day cleaning and lapping stones, cleaning a strop, and honing up one of the razors, from yesterday's finds.

    Washita:

    Coticules:

    Blue/Green Escher:

    Imp Strop:

cleaned the strop with saddle soap, and wiped the linen with a Mr.Clean, magic eraser. I didn't want to get it wet, and take chance of washing off what ever the blue stuff is, that they impregnated it with. Other than one tiny nick in the edge, and a few age spots, its like new.
After 20-30 passes on the green brick to remove a couple teensy chips, I tried the Washita (love it), then the three Coties, one stands out from the others, as a good finisher. Then to my new love[emoji7][emoji7], this Escher is heavenly to hone on, such a creamy, responsive, feel, and an edge that cuts on contact with the TPT, and looks awsome under magnification.

Tried the strop...seems a bit fast, may need a wee bit of neatsfoot oil on a dampened rag, applied to the backside of the leather. Other than that it worked pretty good

    .
    Thanks ,Mike.
I'm still in awe over all I found, and ooohhh so cheap. I mean stole it, cheap.
As $15 each, for the Coties and Escher.
    $1 for the Swatty
    $2 for the Washita
    $25 for the Strop.
And the razors averaged at $15 each.
Plus met a guy who has other rocks for sale, that he won't bring to these kind of sales. The place was so packed by the time I left, that if I were that kind of person, I really could have easily stole all that I bought. One vendor even told me he had over ten knives stolen off his table in less than two hours. The smart ones keep them in locked display cases.

Most of the old timer flea market folks have a frame that opens from the back and hinged at the front of their table. Some are old two pane storm windows. Like the old Gillette point of purchase displays. They are in control!

That's exactly right. Some are made from old window frames, with hinged storm windows, I've noticed.

As for me...I have more moving boxes of unknown content than I really have places to shuffle things to
Some things I want may be anywhere. Kinda unbelievable as to how much stuff a guy has after twenty years in one place. I have been giving stuff away for months...and...still have a "blivet" from having 1200 sqft to 400. Found my coffee roaster an espresso machine and all is coming along. I should be able to find most items by Christmas!
Take it from me, downsizing is a hassle! Even good planning leaves much to be desired when the movers arrive. I could not be in three places at once........

That gear cleaned up nicely, Mike! The place sounds like it was really packed with people, you were lucky to grab that stuff before someone else did. I felt the same way when I found my Escher last summer, unbelievably lucky! Even though it doesn't have a label, and some could justifiably argue it's not an Escher without the label, when every clue points to Escher you just know. The coticules were a really great find too, and the strop, heck all of it is great! I hope this is just the start of many more great finds for you this summer.

I've been working on a shower/tub installation. I had a lot of help from a buddy and it's coming along nicely. Redoing the rest of the bathroom as well, saving what I can and replacing what needs it. It was long overdue but now my razor workshop time has evaporated along with any extra dough. Needed a mixing valve on the boiler, too. One thing leads to another, can-o-worms and all that.
