    That looks like some of the cases I've seen in antique stores, all kinds of shave stuff to pic thru, for a gem in the rough.

    Sorry, I needed it to finish my F. Dick.

    In reality, I can't unscrew the dang end cap. About to torch it off!

    Have you tried some penetrating oil of some kind?

    A torch will not be good for either the wood handle nor the chrome plating.

    Also, that ring can be bent and removed then something like a screwdriver used to twist, but even then I'd put some kind of lube and let it soak.
