Thanked: 89The scales were a little beat up, and had some chipping. They are going to be forming the pattern for a new set of black bone scales, which will be the next phase of the project! This has been really fun. I know that the scale making will involve some patience and attention to detail, but I'm up for the challenge and in no hurry.

Thanked: 4827Back bone or black horn? I suspect you meant to type horn. If it is in fact black bone, that is something I must see.

Great job on the Wade & Butcher so far.
If you haven't shaved with one yet you're in for a treat.
Can't wait to see it when it's finished.

Non-razor related project today. For a few years now I've used dash cameras in my cars. They're pretty inexpensive and could possibly save your butt. I've also got a small camera that I mount on my motorcycle and bicycle helmets. The problem with the helmet mount is that you've always got to keep it charged and remember to turn it on/off. I've been planning to figure something out for the bike for some time now and finally got started on it
These key fob cameras have been around for several years and are fairly inexpensive. This particular one in known as the "808 #16". Unlike the other models, this one has several configuration options and can be set up to record when it receives power. It's also small enough to go unnoticed by the average passerby. It shoots in 720p with a 120 degree lens with good enough picture to document any possible incidents.
I wired a 5 volt converter to the running light lines for power. It has two USB plugs on it that I can plug the camera into. The second plug will be used for a möbius camera on the front. The line was run through the fairings and the camera is mounted with some Velcro tape.
It starts recording when I start the bike and stops when I kill it. Set it and forget it. Next step will be to weatherproof it and mount a Mobius camera on the front.
Here's a YouTube link to see the video quality.
