Thanked: 4206Still blown away you are sending me one Mike, can't wait to pin up some sweet steel on it..
Will post a picture of what it's replacing for your amusement as well.
Tom, they are both kinda kami's but honed up like westerns. Don't seem to have the same soft backside as traditional kami's, so didn't do the 10/1 honing strokes. Will be fun to try em out though. The ones got some funky silver grey translucent scales on them that are unlike any in my collection."Depression is just anger,, without the enthusiasm."

Now I know this is going a little far... but if you ever write a "Will"... I would not be offended if that was the razor you willed to me...

I know how you feel. Many times Ive questioned the decision to remove scales or work around them. Wish I could remove them and put them back on with 100% success rate.
I had a girlfriend from Japan. Her dad had a case on the wall with several dozen Japanese blades most never been used. He was a business man (retired) and she said he owned interest in a distributor of Japanese razors for years before it went belly up. Back then SR were just a passing interest of mine and I thought nothing of it. A year ago in San Francisco I saw her sister and it turns out that they had moved back to Japan a few months before the Fukushima disaster. Their house was not destroyed but they moved anyway. I asked about the straight razors and she laughed and said that the "ridiculously large case with his precious straight razors was the first thing he loaded into the truck!" Thats awesome! Anyway that was one of the razors I for some reason remember. I know nothing of its origin. But I will search.
Now that is great! And its not even xmas!

Lovely razors Mike.
Although a pretty common razor, I'm a big fan of Henckels razors.Tony
