Good joke Harold but they have increased in price. On the other side of the coin, if you are in the right place at the right time you can get one really cheap. Others that may have been watching one might get distracted by the SWMBO or a knock at the door or phone call & one can get lucky!

Tom, I must say, you have some really nice ones I would love to have, but me, I'm just limited unless I win the lottery or something which will never happen. I'm just lucky to have some of the few nice ones I have! I'm happy for ya though...........I'm happy for all you guys.
I wouldn't wish anyone to be in my position. I just made about $8 on eBay a few minutes ago but $8 is better than nothing.
I'm content.

I like Greaves a whole lot, never understood how W&B goes for more than a Greaves... Greaves are more rare..
Oh yeah, I remember that post thread! Lol I have more W&B because they are so a'plenty! But still such a high price.. I don't doubt they are great blades but I just saw a Thomas Turner 8/8 go for $97. Thomas Turner 8/8 is 100X more rare than W&B 8/8... ??? Go figure.
Edit: if it helps answer the question about W&B high price$ (simple answer IMO, hype, cool sounding name, buzz generated in sights like this because so many people have W&B blades), W&B blades are the most abundant blades on the Bay. Some go for little. The ones that are hyped, a great amount more, but the big ones are more rare so a "more rare blade among a common brand".
I have purchased maybe 6 on eBay before this big lot, and have a bunch because they are a common blade found often. I try to go for obscure brands that fools focusing on popular brands overlook...Last edited by MikeT; 09-22-2015 at 12:12 PM.

I tried to make a wedge today. Tried being the operative word .
The horn scales I purchased off ebay came with a horn square spacer piece , so I tried sanding it into a wedge on some glass paper.
It's near impossible to get it tapered and flat at the same time.
In the end I had no choice but to use an old W&B lead wedge that is way to thin and protrudes , so when I sand it flush I will be hitting the sheen on the horn scales..
I've drilled the holes and its being glued in to place before I pin it . I'm not sure why I'm gluing it , I think I could have just pinned it.
Am I missing an obvious fix or does anyone have any advise for me. Apart from ,"buy some machinery!"
