Thanked: 4206I like that set up too Rob, Liked it on the other thread same as Steve did.
Was excited when I got home as there was a bag from China.
My knock off dust cyclone arrived. (Some assembly required)
Basically just cut the hole in a big chlorine pail's lid to fit this puppy, add an extra length of vac line between it and the central vac system in the house and I too can breath a little easier in the wood shop. Dust will stop drifting upstairs to the gun cabinet as well making everything look like crap. And the central vac hasn't been used since we moved in as the missez prefers her Dyson. No shop vac noise in the basement as the head unit is in the garage.

I found a guy to cut up my 20" piece of railroad track into 3" pieces , the end piece is only 1 3/8" long.
I'm hoping to get two of them finished before the weekend for a couple of guys here in the forum.

So Mike! I suppose that thing separates the particulates somewhat and deposits the bulk in the bucket?

Thanked: 4206Yea Tom, the stuff comes in the side port, on a 6 degree downward angle. Spins around the cone downward as the air needs to go down half way to get to the inlet of the exhaust, this downward cyclone pulls out over 99% of the dust and shavings.
I have one from festool at work that works the bomb, but really expensive. This on the bucket means I don't need to empty the vac bag for months instead of every day, just the bucket.
And I too really love the offer Mike and will be looking for railroad pieces up here for the budding smithy, but the price to ship to the great white north would be nuts..
Besides you shine those up better than I do my razors. It would sit on my bench mocking me with it's gleamin stare.

I'm sure you guys can work something out! And Tom don't be silly, let the man do a solid, I'm sure you will get him back how ever you feel is right anyways.
Don't feel bad outback, Tom didn't respond to my offer to make him scales from the salvaged wood of a 10th century Norse Viking ship!
Yeah I wonder what the people at customs would think about an anvil.. lol
That shop vac thingy looks pretty fancy! You guys are getting all high tec.. I'm gonna have to think up something ridiculously over the top to stay on the game!“You must unlearn what you have learned.”
