Wedge. The tang taper is slight, but it is there and the wedge matches it.

I should have specified:
Blade: Klas Tornblom 5/8
Scales: African Blackwood
Wedge: Ivory
Inlay: Sterling Silver
Pins: Nickle Silver
My camera sucks and the lighting is glary.. its hard to explain the wonderful two tone colors that come from that wood from different angles. No finish. Just sanding.“You must unlearn what you have learned.”

MikeT, is that silver inlay just laying on top of that razor for now? Even if it is, from what I see, it will be tedious work putting them in there but I know you can do it.

I was away looking at the gentleman's set thread... Oh my Lord! Wow! Shocked and amazed at the crazy awesome sets some of these guys have! It would be great to put this one in there, thanks for vote of confidence.
About the inlay... well, I don't know how to do inlays yet. It's laying onto right now. I mis-spoke. It's not going to be an inlay, I was planning on shaving the silver down, its rough now and a bit thick. I devised a way to put pins in and set/crimp them using a modified locking needle nose pliers.
I did this because 1. Don't know how to do inlays. 2. The scales are a hair "under" 1/16". And 3. I was worried about changing the strength of one scale and having then warp later. Ofcourse I could be wrong about that. But drilling the holes after the scales are already in flex and then attaching the silver plate, I hope to avoid that issue.
Totally could be wrong, I'm just a simple minded apple hitting branches on the way down towards the inevitable sometimes.. heheheLast edited by MikeT; 09-21-2015 at 02:08 PM.
