Okay cool, I thought so, figureded the CA fills scratches ..
I always sand between coats of CA which sometimes is tricky not to remove the layer just applied but I figure its also for leveling and not just to build thick coat.
Outback, you try any of those other products? Anything new on that front?
I still have yet to try Mirror Coat on scales. But it is thicker and still perhaps when using 2 part epoxy finish, thin CA would be good for initial layers.“You must unlearn what you have learned.”

Well, I did the edge last night & was up until 3:30am doing it until the chips were gone. I just went out into the garage & ground the toe down & had a glass of water with me to cool it off. I then hit the face of the blade slightly with 80 grit greaseless because there was rust on the blade.

Thanks B52. While lightly hitting it on the wheel with the 80 grit greaseless compound it kept trying to grab it so I had to change the angle a little toward the edge. I can see where that blade holding tool I made would come in handy for that so I need to unpin it. Those scales are trashed anyway.

Nice work, Gentlemen!
I have gotten little done, perpetual issues!
I did get the blade sorted, with exception of a long, light scratch across the front I see now in the pic. Must have still had some compound or possibly a piece of grit in the towel as wiping off the tufglide! Oh well, one more round. Turned up mostly 15/16 and a bit under at the tip. The scales have soaked up the neetsfoot and are super strong feeling.
I will use Babur's collars in the pivot under AJKenne's domes as the top holes are pretty big, just to take up slop.
If I have accomplished nothing else, at least I have everything ready to be assembled.

Thank you, Steve. It seems i have a 'favorite' towel I use a lot. Rough and fuzzy on one side, smooth on the other.
Sucker gets dirty and things like that happen. Time to wash it!
Another round of the CroOx/crocus/WD40 using up and down strokes and light buff should make it gone."Don't be stubborn. You are missing out."
I rest my case.

Tom
What's up with the two wedges? I know you're only going to use one.
