Mike...I'm about 16 years on from a heart attack. The event just drifts into the past like other events. The only thing that reminds me of it is the damn visits to the cardiologist. I hope you have one you like.

Thanked: 4206So my Palmera arrived today. Excitement drifted into dismay as I felt something at the heel with my cleaning rag.
Seems to have started at a chip, don't they all, and goes in maybe 3/8.
Contacted the seller, and hopefully he has a drawer full and will happily exchange it....
yea right.
Expecting to keep it my only option is a regrind at the heel I suppose? Or on the wall as Spanish art?
My ERA right now on #14's, that's Exceptable Razor Average, is down around .300 . Doesn't really cut it in the play off's.

Well that $!#ks.
Same kinda thing happened to me today while straightening the scales on my Canton Oh. Razor.
Got them straight but one side shrank, its not melted.
May still be able to reshape and use, but if not, I'll try making new one's from yellow heart wood, remove the bolsters and fit them to the new scales, wich I figure will take some time being I've never done it , but watched a few vids on it.

I've seen some of those threads on it, have yet to watch the videos. Often thought about doing the same thing with one wood or another... like when you see broken scales but with great bolsters. The one that stands out in my mind was with a Reaper and yellow heart.
What do you guys think, would one need to worry about it coming loose like with the Black Demon? I'll need to go back and see what he used to glue it all..“You must unlearn what you have learned.”

They talked of two ways...
CA and slow cure Epoxy's.
The hard part was, sanding the scales to fit the bolsters flush.
A little sand, check fit, sand, check fit. You see were im going...
Tedious.
Im thinking, getting the them to fit, then traceing the bolsters on to the scales and using my carving tools, and chipping knives to remove the wood to make them flush with the surface of the scales..
Again tedious, but i believe i can do it. Just time and patience.
If I cut it slightly deeper than the thickness of the bolster, then i can tape over the bolster and sand the scales flush to them once glued in place. Seems to be the best way I can come up with. But you know me.[emoji1]
