I do have a wonky spine and an uneven bevel...
Got some pitting also...up near the head part
Rusting at the pivot pin....sniff

4 3/4" pin hole- pin hole.
Leaving a 5/16" gap between toe and wedge.
Wedge is built into One scale, and pin is very close to inside part of wedge. Suprised it isn't showing inside the scales.
See why the glued them together now.

Was a major in civil war, lost a arm in battle in Gettysburg. Became post master in canton after war, then started the knife co.
First to invent translucent scales with pictures in them.

A guy deserves to get lucky every once in a while. When I first drilled out the end I only made it long enough to accept the hidden tang. I got thinking this burl would probably need a little more strenght so I decided to drill out the rest of the length of the handle and insert some threaded SS rod for extra strength. I already had some of the shaping done so I didn't have much room on the other side for error. I got lucky and hit dead center on the other end!
