Okay, the knot is from TGN. It's their Finest F2.
The wood rim is African Blackwood with 3 pins holding it on. It took some tinkering but was fairly simple once i got going. Took a bit longer to make because of some technical issues.
Should have annealed the pins.
But it was fun to step outside my regular routine of straight razor scales..“You must unlearn what you have learned.”

MAN! Thats the shizzle! A genuine Liberace shaving brush! Set it on your piano for inspiration, outback!
Reminds me of MikeT's first scales! Awesome and WAY overdone!
Does it light up?Last edited by sharptonn; 09-19-2015 at 01:27 AM.

I Could. Put some christmas lites on it i suppose.
And I would if i had a piano.
I could glue the base to the top of my 75 watt guitar amp. But it would shake the hair out of the knot... Im serious!!!! I've changed the decore of the whole house before. Came upstairs after jammin out some mettalica, and thought someone ransacked my house. Dishes on the floor, stuff from shelves on floor , things everywhere that weren't heavy had moved[emoji23] [emoji23] [emoji23] [emoji23] [emoji23]Mike

Now I'm back after a few hours on the phone & a shower!
Yeah sure they could be cut but I was thinking what if he ever got a nice normal blade again? That would be the place to cut it is at the pivot. The Schrade I cut, I cut the scales down too & they aren't nothing special but I wish I wouldn't have done it. I have plenty of broken scales I could have used instead that are broke off at the pivot endor wedge end for all that matters.
MikeT.............man, what an awesome f&%#ing brush!!!!! It looks like a candlestick holder to me but Holy Shazaaaaam Batman..................
That is definitely different & I love it! Now I know something else I can make once i get something over here. I'm not going to mention it. I just need a friend with a pickup truck.
I had to get on the phone & call the national Post office to make a complaint......................again. Third time in the past 3 weeks! I also had to call someone else because something else happened but I'm not going to mention my issues here. Just another one of those days!!!!!!
I've been trying to get a set of scales loose from a Torrey Razor with the woman on the scales but the blade is worn out. I figured i could put the Torrey blade I had to grind the chip out of in those. I can see that are already not lined up & that is a Torrey flaw since those don't have a wedge pin! May have to sand on 'em a little to make 'em look right. I'm so hungry now I can feel my backbone snatchin' at my belly button so I guess I'll put a frozen pizza in the oven!
MikeT...................super fantastic f*&%ing job!!!!!!!

Thanked: 4206I like that Liberace brush a lot! very neat idea and great execution Mike.
Will stand proud on the counter for sure!
Also great idea to send out that smiley for professional treatment. Worth the attention. Came out so well.
This thread is almost 90 pages now, but full of some fine blades and bits of information on cool saves of clunkers.
Thanks for all the continued enthusiasm gents.
Check out Cuda's thread in the conversation on his cousin "Remembering a Warrior" as well. A great read that will warm your heart if your blood still flows.
Back to the shop for a bit o sanding and another finger of bourbon.

Thanks a million Steve! I appreciate all the awesome feedback, especially coming from guys who know how to make cool s&!+ and have a good eye for craftsmanship..
Now that you mention it, I'll be going crazy wondering what it is that you will need a pickup truck for!
Also, you have a good point. Those are good adoration scales, if he saves them, makes new ones, then we could find good blade for them... valid point. They'd what I'd do too.“You must unlearn what you have learned.”
