    Yes, yes, yes and yes...

    Mason jars are the best...

Vacuum sealing does not allow the tobacco to age... Needs a little air... I have stuff on the shelf from 6 years ago and it smokes fine...

When I jar mine, I make sure there is a little "Fluff" room in the jar, you don't want to pack it to tight...

The moisture content that you first store it at, should be the same when you open it down the road...

Thanks Nosey...I appreciate that very much. I think I will look into bulk buying in light of this. Gotta make sure I have enough Pilots Mix for the "Z Apocalypse" y'know.

Here's the closest I could find Jon. Sounds quaint, but you never know what ya might find at a little place like this.https://wynbriercom.fatcow.com/hand-...er-since-1971/ Looks like mostly aromatics though. If you want to head down to Denver there is my local.. http://www.denvercigars.com/ My shop has about the best selection of Aromatic,English and Virginia's and Pipes and wine n spirits also. Nice big stogie room if you like as well.

Probably overkill, but I have sealed my bulk in mason jars by putting it in a pot of hot water ~3/4 up the jar for a few minutes with a loose cap, then seal it up. Makes for an airtight seal at room temp, but with residual air in the jar for aging.

    Basically tobacco canning.

And here comes my dumb question for the day. Do you have to sterilize the jars for any reason ?? I would think not but you never know till you ask.

I take some distilled water and swish it around and then a clean paper towel... That's it...

I have over 20 lbs of bulk in mason jars. Ya, a bit of OCD, here.
No need to sterilize the jars. Just make sure they are clean, and leave plenty of head space.
I like the water bath idea, I'll try that next time. Thank you.

    Tonight's smoke. FVF'10, aged nicely in a mason jar.Name: image.jpg
