A 5k tempo run today. 5:30/km average even with forgetting to pause at the lights, might have been closer 5:20.

Wow I can't even IMAGINE what it must be like to live somewhere so cold. 'To Build a Fire' by Jack London is one of my favourite books, though I've not read it; I listen to it in audio book format. I've listened to it many, many times and the description on the cold always amazes me. I like it to be well over 30 degrees C, I'm even happy in the low 40's for a few weeks...

Blow that! I like it in the low 20's. Max! Summers are the death of me most times. I live for winter where we usually get a few lower 20's days and maybe even a week of slightly below 20's for a cool change.

While I'm on that numerical figure. I did a 20km ride today to get back into the swing of things after a few days off. And since it's school holidays right now, I have the kids hanging off me for the next two weeks, so workouts are going to be very limited. It's going to bugger up my 40+ km ride day fitness, but I'll get back into them as soon as I can after school starts back. The kids are too young to train with me just yet.

Put them on a skateboard and tow them behind you... Added resistance :-)

It would be more than likely that I would be the one wanting to be on the board. If the little buggers could ride them better, that would be an alternative to the bike.
