Nice pair of Wostys! And those scales are smooth.
I'm sure they are good and will shave well!

I sure do like the look of the streaked black horn.

Woodturningz is having a sale. For anyone interested here's the link--

    Weekly Specials

For a very small fee they will rip the acrylics to 1/8"--Wood you'd have to ask as I'm sure they would worry about warpage as I know that many of the spindles come with wax on at least the ends.

Wow, I'm looking at some of those swirly psychedelic inlace acylester blanks and imagining the possibilities. I would bet it's easy to work and polish up. I wonder if they could get 4 equal scale blanks out of one of those 1.5x1.5x6" blanks?

Ive bought from them (thanks Roy) and it is easy to work with. Nice stuff. But after cutting i think i had an odd number of pieces. Or one real thin piece. Still, some cool looking stuff if your into the plastics and the price is right. Plus they dont charge much to rip it. You just need to let them know before you order.
    It's just Sharpening, right?

I am putting together some elk antler brushes. I am sealing the soft porous middle with CA. Bottoms first the I will do the bottom of the hole to keep my epoxy from getting sucked down. Some of them were a little on the green side so I scrubbed them well, and then to dry them I put them in the microwave. It’s a good thing my wife is at work. The exaust fan should have that all cleaned up before she gets home.

I do all my shaping on a belt sander. Virtually no hand-sanding whatsoever. I rough shape with 120 grit and by the time i move through the finer grits i stop at 600 or 800 with a finished shape. Then off to the buffer to remove the fine scratches and apply a final polish.

That's the way I shape scales when making 'em.

I like my Sheng 2-bands a lot! Will you do any kind of coating on the rest of the handles?
