Spent all day ironing these fabric panels...Wotta pain!
Figured out pretty hot, use the steam.
(think my old iron is clogged...CLR?)
Going to give them a 2-day 'smash' , 8 or so at a time and then off to my Mexican buddy for the little gripper handles sewn on the bottom and a stitch across the top.
Then I will punch the holes and install a grommet at the top.
Meanwhile, cleaning and conditioning the leathers.
    Gonna take a while!

    Looking Good Tom!

Back in the days before 'Steam Irons' people used to 'Sprinkle' water on cloth then let it set and then iron them.

    How do I know????

That is a pretty big project Tom. That is a lot of strops. You've got my mailing address right?

    Nice looking display sir.
Thank You Mike! I think I like option better than drilling holes. And yes I will be opening it every two days (maybe more) so ventilation may not be an issue here. But I will monitor closely. If needed, holes it shall be.

Too bad you didn't have a Mangle it would have made quick work of those hoses! My granny had one similar to this one but she'd put this 'Newbie' to shame! She could iron clothes faster than you'd ever believe!

Spent a little time with this Freddy Reynolds today. Started with some 600 sand paper and 3 in 1 oil and went at it. Got to 1k and fizzled out. Just sat down with an Innis & Gunn, so I'mm back at it. Probably take it to 2500 and then a lot of polish. Wont get all the pitting but should look pretty good when all done.

Lookin' good on the Fredrick Reynolds. I've got one like that, just a blade no scales for now, big "humpback". Those have a cool look to them. And geez sharptonn really has his work cut out for him at the ol' strop factory down in Texas.

I had a stray Morley blade that needed scales so I found this one with a beat up blade but pretty good scales. I really like the raised lettering and clover.

The scales just had one chip along the top edge.

So I sanded a broken scale from my junk bin to get black dust and mixed it with epoxy. Then using a cardboard backer I filled in the chip. When it has cured I'll shape away the extra, smooth and polish like nothing was ever there.

Then I went and got my blade cleaned up. Should be able to pin it all together this weekend.
