Gaa! I know about that a bit! Don't think that seller has a clue, period.
Send it to me....I will make it better, Bill!

Well...........you don't wanna to see my garage. I plan on cleaning it up but right now it looks bad.

As soon as you hold the razor for the first time you know there are some SERIOUS problems. You don't need to do anything beyond holding it. It feels wrong because it is wrong. Humility overtakes me as this is the biggest loss on the Bay for sure, only one other but that one was cheap. Mike, you were lucky you didn't 'win' this razor. Severely warped scales...not a problem....severely warped spine....a problem. Especially if it is only one side of the spine, sniff. Time to crawl back into my makeshift mancave and lick my wounds. I'm not going to post pictures, therefore, it didn't happen.
A thought: the tang stamp on this razor does not fit in the tang area. Much of the word Liverpool is missing. I believe the razor began life as a unstamped Sheffield shoulderless wedge and was reground by Harley in Liverpool. Harley was known as a cutler and hardware dealer...just guessing though.
Bill, I'm sorry it wasn't what it turned out to be. If you aren't happy with it, send it back. Put item not as described & say how he failed to mention the warped scales & the blade.

Now for me, I've been bummed ever since yesterday's mail but it wasn't a razor. I hope to all get it straightened out hopefully.
Now todays mail is another story! It made my day thanks to B52. I got a surprise in the mail & when I saw the return address, I knew who it was from. He sent me a really nice pen, brush & a W&B straight. He made the brush & I suppose he made the pen too. The brush has a magnet on it as well wit my initials on it. Right now it is hanging from my medicine cabinet in my master bath. Thank you very much B52, you made my day!

Argh, you showed my horrible chicken scratch Steve! My spelling is impeccable, penmanship,,not so much.

Glad you got the goodies safely. You having the Harley, I thought that's as close to a 'biker' pen I know how to make.
That WB, I was thinking it was a round tip someone snipped back in days gone by. I was going to go full french point on it, but thought you might have some fun with it instead.

The engraver font shifted during the monogramming, hence the slight foul up on your initials. Heck, someone had to be first when I made em, that was yours.

Hope they serve you well mate!

    LOL
Cant say that I havent sniffed a truckload of money up the dual-port vacuum on my face.. wish I could go back and save the money spent on boats, sushi, helicopter rides, cars, clothes, and anything that even remotely made me feel like James Bond... Ugh! But I think James Bond had a vasectomy... I knew it!!! THATS what I forgot to do... Man, I could still be a secret agent!!!
... if only I had the foresight..

Tom!!! How insensitive of you... In his time of despair.. when he simply needs a smooth strop, scritchy brush, close shave, and a slap/splash in the face of some aftershave a'kin to icy-hot mixed with pepper spray.
Dont listen to him Bill, he is known for being a big meany.. send it to me and Ill make sure the obtuse razor is ridiculed daily for its malformation.

MikeT, many have made that miscalculation! Paying for it now!

Know Bill pretty well. When he's done, that's it!

B52, I'm not worried about the way my initials are. It has character! It made my day a brighter one. You're awesome brother.

Incoming Tom....yep you smoked me out. This thing quickly felt like molten lava in my hand...something is so off about it, not just the warped spine and scales, the balance...everything except the wedge. The wedge is nice. I am now researching the reverse side of the tang it says N.E.V.A. in a sweet script, the same thing that is on Steve's Harley razor. At first it looks like the owner's initials but both razors have the same thing. A fun search.
Have to make a quick turnaround to NYC to see SWMBO's new grandson...I always feel like a rube in NYC but I still like it for a quick trip. When I get back, white box...and no, doan want it back...maybe a good project for the smokey corner that is the Butchered Blade, or maybe a wind chime as you say.

    Default Back to business

My latest full custom scale work in progress is this George Wosti Barbers notch wedge in some African blackwood received from Mike T.

Going with the double notch design again. Not so much to repeat myself as the last build in horn, but more cause it matches the blade bellied tang. Or at least I hope it does when done.
Not sure about the wedge, want to go with brass or copper.
Might actually deface Canadian currency and chop up a loonie for it.
Don't tell the RCMP. I here they are in town looking for nefarious Movember participants.
I should be safe though, their anonymous tipster from Florida has them looking in gyms.. lol last place you'd find me.

Have a nice trip, Bill! In retrospect, you 'NEVA' should have bought it! (could not resist!)
