Yeah I've got two pair of them. Their called pinking shears, used for making clothes and sewing.
You can find them at fabric storesMike

Yeah, pinking shears are for cutting out rough shapes and keeping the fabric from unraveling.
Glad you are able to save those scales, outback! They had been languishing on the bench for a long while!"Don't be stubborn. You are missing out."
I rest my case.

Hey Tom, do you know of a way to clean some Ivory scales? I just posted it under razors. I picked up a Wosty that looked like ivory to me but the blade was trashed from rust. I got it & my assumption was correct. They are indeed Ivory but they have some brown looking stain on them. Aside from that, they would make a really nice Wosty if I put in another Wosty blade which I'm sure I might have. It's too bad the blade is trashed but then again, I might not have been able to get it if the blade weren't trashed. I was the only bidder & got it cheap!

Sometimes the rust stains have permeated the ivory. Cannot do much about it sometimes. Scotchbrite pad, sanding will tell.
