German silver or nickle silver is a good way to go. They are available in very thin sheets and are a type of white brass. Many older fittings were made of it. Most knife suppliers and many ebay vendors sell it.

Nickel and stainless steel looks very nice. I've also ordered some mild carbon steel sheeting . It seems to be a dark steel, ill have to wait for it to arrive to be sure.

Am able to indulge myself this AM. All presents made and accounted for.
So I spent some time prepping the ducks for recladding. A little acetone bath action and I can give it a go!

Looking forward to seeing the process, Mike!
Meanwhile, I have a 6/8 Satinedge I have decided to do something a bit different with. I don't need the bother of trying to make it like original as I just want a DD to shave with. Besides, I want something completely different! (lazy!) Pics forthcoming!

Same here Tom. I decided to change my scale design on my Wosty. I want it to be different & it will be already after what I did to the blade.

Not quite Wostenholm territory here, Steve!
My plan is to put this blade in some crazy striped scales with different direction stripes on either side.
The original scales had rotted, esp the wedge, so it needs lots of light hand sanding to make it presentable.
I plan on bluing the tang and spine with RubNbuff silver in the tang stamps.

I will be using Ajkeenes newest collar design as he sent me some a while back to judge. This is the first opportunity I have had to try them. While they all look good, they seem a bit too deep and likely to 'bite' into the scales.
Going to have to sand the backside's outside diameters down some to have the middle touching as the OD's do I think.

Oh, I know it's not Wosty territory. You have a good plan there, it will be very different indeed plus I understand what you're saying about how the collars might bite into the scales. Austin sent me some too to try out. I think I first met him when I got something from him on eBay. We got to talking & found out he was on here as well. He's a great guy to know.
I can't wait to see this one finished.
