Found that Clauss, Steve.
Lots (most all, IMO) of razors have multiple grinds, but the George Korn patent (type) is much different and is quite unique and pronounced!
Does not look as Newell's is one, however. Perhaps someone sanded it lengthwise above the bevel?Last edited by sharptonn; 11-03-2015 at 12:51 AM.

I've had similar problems honing.. same spot not wanting to take an edge.

That is not wood, but thanks, several people liked it so far... Perhaps I should put together a short tutorial on creative use of celluloid, burr bits and drills, spray paint, ebony and cocobolo dust, applied and finished with CA. Originally Posted by MikeT

Oh man, now I'm gonna have to go search through my collection to see if I have any "double concave" blades... experiencing some SRE (straight razor envy) right now!

Okay really don't think I have any though.
So this is different than "swaged" right? And some look like bellied hollows that are simply more pronounced.

Srdjan, that is very cool! Great idea, the use of wood dust, spray paint, CA,... etc. That's quite inventive. Good food for thought on possibilities of finishes and textures..

Much different than any Sheffield. A few German makers did it on some, for the American market. Some models of Griffon Carbo Magnetic come to mind. It is referred to as a 'bellied hollow' at times. Originally Posted by MikeT

In retrospect, it looks as someone has evenly applied that blade on a grindstone of a much larger (and grittier) diameter of the one upon which it was originally ground. Might make a shaver. Lots of work to see?
