Probably a bit of both, and also it isn't going directly onto any of the surfaces of your mouth, it is getting churned up with the cheese and 2 bits.of bread before it hits you.
I used to like mixing marmite and mustard together in cheese and onion toasties (with ham or bacon sometimes).
I also really like cheese and chutney toasties.
Did you butter the outside? Did you grill or sandwich press?

Bread and water can so easily become tea and toast

I used butter on the outside and the picture is after the first flip on the grill.

Nice, good to see it didn't get over done, that's my downfall with traditional grills, I run off to do a "quick" job, come back and its all burnt.

I suppose i started this a bit late for most of you guys in Australia. We got to wait another 40 minutes or so.

My first attempt so please don't laugh to hard. I probably shouldn't but feel like taking a risk and posting this.

It's important that we support our fellow shavers and breakfasteers, especially at first attempts. Hope it turns out well for you. Happy eating ! I'm off to work !

It is an Australian Damper. Rather simple bread. Except maybe for the likes of me. Making this bread dough is like mixing concrete. If it is to dry you are suppose to add a little more milk. But similar to concrete it is dry add some liguid, dry add some liquid, dry add some liquid, oops to wet!

Here is the finished product. Not as pretty as the recipe books! Now to finish the rest the meal before I try and taste it.
