Smoked salmon, also known as Lox, was a staple in my parent's neighborhood grocery store. Always had a side of it available. We cut slices to order. Wish I was able to get the very large and sharp knife that we used for slicing. The customers had a favorite among my parent's and me. When they wanted tissue thin slices and I was in the store I was the chosen slicer. In many ways I miss the store and especially the Lox.

Yum, pfries. But I'll have yams instead of the potatoes.
