    I like to barbecue.
If the weather is nice, which up here means temps above freezing and no snow or rain in the air, I'll fire up the grill more days than not.
Some Chicken with a homemade potato salad today.

I must be bored as I started thinking of a new name for them. This one popped into my head. Beveled Potatoes.

At least around here it would be understood!

This is an example of the around 200 lbs we made last weekend. Grilled breakfast sausage in Bratwurst size casings. Morel mushrooms on top. No more toppings/spices needed.

    Forgot the picture.

A little heavy on the pork but used a roadkill 11 point buck for most of the breakfast spiced sausage. I usually like my Venison with little or no spice but a roadkill buck in rut can usually use a little!

Since most of these posts are about slabs of meat and pools of grease, I thought I'd post something different. I like vegetables and the advantage of modern trade is that even though it's not late sumer the produce at the store often looks really good.
The other day the baby eggplants were particularly appealing, so I figured I may as well make a ratatouille. I've cooked the veggies on the grill in the past, but I still like it better when I cook them in the cast iron pan. Poured in a bit of moscato for good measure since we didn't finish the last bottle.

Here's the stuff cooked and ready to go in the pot (minus the tomatoes I guess, but I used a can of muir glen fire roasted because they're far better than anything fresh at the moment):
