Had a good run this morning at the parkrun. 1st one in probably close to 5 months. Seeing that I haven't done much running, I was very happy with my time of 24:56.

I also survived the practice runs at the downhill. Did 3 runs in total. The track was quite rocky and very powdery in places, so you had to just trust where you placed your front wheel. Tomorrow is the race, two timed practice runs. The buggers decided that because there were only 2 of us in the Masters category, they'd scrap that category and place us with the Veterans.

    I survived the downhill.
Only 3 runs, each approximately 900m in length.
But my goal of reaching the finish line with my wheels underneath me, was achieved.

All in all, my weekend exercise consisted of a 8km of running and 5km of Mountain Biking.
    Pretty poor.

Breakfast ride with the bike club yesterday - 44 miles - stop in the middle for a couple of pancakes and coffee.

This afternoon's workout was a seven mile trail run. I confess I had to walk a couple of sections. I'm was pretty beat from yesterday's workouts and didn't have much left in the tank.

    Grrrrrrr........

Tried to ride in to work and only got about 2 miles when the clouds opened, the lightening flashed, and the thunder boomed. Spent a 1/2 an hour under a highway overpass watching the radar and the sideways rain. Saw a small gap on the radar and rode back. Got back just as the next wave went through so just 4 miles. Try again tomorrow.
