These are good words. That's why I find this hobby so fulfilling and how it continues to hold my interest.

BJ, is there a reason you blued the tang?
Just wondering if that is how they were when they were produced or just a personal preference. I have one, same model, and have to finish it up
    Thanks

Well, I think it may have been blued originally?
Either way, modern-grind wedges look sweet with blued tangs, spines, and noses.
    Just me!

I really like the look as well Tom.
But being the big Ka-Bar fan I am, I would prefer this razor to be as original as possible.
Besides, I consider that a piece of American history and heritage

Folded some leather pieces the other day to make strop hangers. I cut rectangles, sprayed the leather with water where I needed it to bend, then squeezed it in the vise and left it there for a day. The first one I did came out of the vise stained rusty since it was wet against the steel... didn't think of that. So, wrap the vise in plastic and that did the trick, comes out shaped just like that. Got some more work done on another hanging strop and was able to use one of the folded leather hangers.

I spent the day building a workbench. The next steps will be to plane and seal the top and purchase a front vise. It is very sturdy and should serve me well.
