Before you spend any more time and especially more money, see if it will hone up. If you don't hone send it out to a Pro. You can always have it rehoned. There is no use throwing money and time away on a dead horse.

I just put it on the 1K Naniwa Proessional stone...... Set the bevel...... And no rust chips in the blade.... Pure and shiny!
I am thinking I will send it out to be professionally hones still..... On my to send out list...... I'm not used to doing the "rocking" X strokes and haven't done many wedges.
Getting it done by a pro will be me something to know what it is supposed to look and feel correct.
    Geezer and cudarunner like this.

I have more than once sent a razor out that I'd honed to have my 'Preferred Pro' hone using the same set up as mine, including not using any pasted strop.

This has given me a 'standard' to compare how I'm doing.

I think that you are making a wise choice sending it out for honing, PM me and I'll share who my favorite Pro is.

Don't think there is much I can do about the pitting......

Wish I could find some of the flower washers. I haven't seen anyone selling those... A pain to make I imagine.

The rosettes are very hard to come by unless you find a member who is making them & it can be done..............I've seen it.

Taking pre-orders wouldn't be a bad idea...... I know not that wouldn't be a lot of people needing these but the ones who did..... Well supply vs. demand....
