Glad to hear you're being discharged.

Judging by the post-stent picture, you'd be able to drive a 48 wheeler through that artery!

I have also thought about some handle ideas. I think I am leaning towards the middle design. I.left the bottom blank incase any of you guys have some good ideas on the handle shape.

Wichever way you choose to go, you may want to consider roughing up the surface of that wood. I've seen some great examples of piqued surfaces that would look great on this. A good carving knife and some imagination would do the trick, too.

I did end up with three good lookers. Oddly one was mixed race and she was gorgeous head to toe. Wanted to take some pics of her for y'all. But it would have wrong of me to do so. But I did let her know how beautiful she was. Just a shame I'm already married.

She would come in the room alot and talk to me. She found great intrest in the razor restoration that we do. She just loved it, and looked at the thread and the work we all do when she was on break.

She loved the shorty I did that MikeT sent me to do., and the razors the rest of you have done.

Tried to set her up with a straight, but she was afraid she'd just cut the hell out of her self.
Told her I could teach her how to use one. [emoji6]
    But no luck.. Dammit.[emoji5]
Not that I would ever cheat on my wife... But it would have been nice to get a eye full of her.[emoji57]

I think I would need a picture to know what you are referring to. What kind of wood finish would I be able to use afterwards?

This is obviously primitive, but it's just an example:

You could create striations with a carving knife, or play with a burr bit, or just take something like a 40 grit paper..

Speaking of 40 grit paper this is what it does to ebony:

What kind of finish were you thinking about using?

Speaking of finish and non-slip... I used nitro-cellulose lacquer (canned) on 2 sets of scales. Just sprayed it on from a good distance to ensure only the finest drops ended up on the wood. Short sprays and you need to be careful that it does not end up leaking down the wood. Too much and you'll have to sand it off and repeat. After 4-5 light coats I used no sandpaper and did no polishing. It left the scales with a matte look and a very nice, slightly rough surface. Not sure what you can see, but there it is:

I was planning on a CA high gloss finish. That 40 grit does look cool. You did give me a couple ideas I might incorporate.

I think it is interesting that (in my opinion) mixed raced women are often extremely attractive. I lived in Trinidad for a couple years. There were some attractive women of African descent and attractive women of Indian descent but when the two were mixed an attract "Dougla" pretty hard to beet. A Dougla Is what they called someone who had African and Indian descent.

You might look into a gun stock finish called Tru-oil, or maybe tounge oil. Its a great penetrating finish for wood and a sealant that wont crack like CA can do. But being that yours wont flex like scales do , CA shouldn't be a problem either.
