Whoever, are you counting steps throughout the day or during a walking stretch?

I've got the annual bicycle race around Johannesburg on Sunday which is 94.7 km's (to coincide with a local radio station of the same name). My days of racing it are long gone (best time of 2:25 in 2008) and this year I'll be riding for a charity called Surgeons for Little Lives Surgeons for Little Lives | Non-profit Organisation | Children (I have a cycling buddy who is a pediatric surgeon).

My plan is to ride to the start (23km) join the thousands in our respective start pens and then turn-off at the closest point to my place, some 57km's into the race, and then ride the 8km's home.

Still deciding on which bike to use.

And I thought I was crazy. Ride to and from the race and race. Hope your not sore at the end of the day.

It will only be around 90 km's which isn't too bad.
When I was racing seriously, I used to ride to the start as a warm up, race the full distance and then still cycle home. That was around 140km.

This mornings ride was the usual 30km which was at a very easy pace.
