When the weather is stormy and the heat prevents you to focus on your lessons, get your hands to work and let your brain rest.

Second big work on MOP done. Pins are made of brass, the wedge is in tortoise.

My next razors will be pined in 999 silver, just spent 50£ buying soft sterling silver in 1,6 & 2mm.

So far, I cut two pieces of 1/8" thick aluminum & about 4.75" long. I took them & made them flat on a DMT 600 honing plate. I'm going to figure out the size of "V" I need for my wedges which will be like a universal wedge. I have some 0-80 screws that I use for mocking up a straight razor. I have a drill & tap coming which I'll use to drill, tap & mount two 1/8" thick aluminum square pieces on the ends of the longer pieces once I figure out my"V". The square ends will hold the mold up. It might be crude but I'm going to try it.

I just did some thinking. I can make some more square pieces so that I can take it apart & make different thicknesses.

Not sure urge if you have put this together yet. I was thinking you could use an end mill. Just set your mold blank at the desired angle then mill it as deep as desired for the thickness of your wedge.

I just pinned a razor in half hard silver (14 gauge or 1.6mm) seems to work well enough didn't loosen after a bevel set and stropping. Looks tits too!

Can't wait to see your next creation! Always interesting.

I understand what you are saying & that thought crossed through my mind long ago but I don't have access to a mill. I do have some end mills laying around I think. I used to sharpen machine shop tools. I might be able to set a block of wood at an angle & use my drill press & carefully do it that way.

The things you work on are of extraordinary beauty and elegance that they are beyond my plebeian tastes. While I can't see using or owning any of them, I do find them great works of art.
