I've survived by using my Coleman gas lantern and my Coleman propane 2 burner stove. The power company does a really fantastic job getting the electric back on and I'm not say that because my mother used to work in the local office. Back in '68 there was one hell of a freezing rain storm. The crews from all over came to help. The power had been out for quite awhile and I walked down to the office to say hi to mom (the office ran off of a generator). The lineman were asleep on the floor behind the counter------they had been up for 3 days without sleep.

Anyway thanks to my friend and 'enabler' Joel (Benz) I am now in possession of a vintage Aladdin Lamp that I'll be restoring so I can enjoy it anytime I wish OR during a power outage.
Thanks for looking. : I'll post more as I make progress.
Roy's lamp is a Model B proudly sitting on top of a Washington Drape font. The Model B was one of the best burners Aladdin made and you can still get replacement parts for it. My oldest lamp is a Model 12 made in the late 1920's that was my Grandfather's lamp. Just like straight razors and old cast iron skillets, collecting and using these things is addictive. Hmmmmmm, maybe I should try shaving by the light of my Aladdin?

Nice shoulderless razor Mike. Looks good.

All this talk about being prepared with lamps makes me think of Matthew 25.

I'm not a virgin. My girlfriend and I took care of that little problem over 40 years ago.

Is what is on the stamp. I am not 100% on the D as it is sort of half stamped.
Came to this website trying to ID some razors I have, and this is one of them. It's L Martin, for what it's worth.

Love those sholderless razors. Nice one Mike.
Roy, my wife used to collect those lamps. She called them "gone with the wind" lamps. I know we still have one left without the fancy glass globe on top and it gets used durring power outages. Name: 15234752266011363922598.jpg

Nice looking lamp! Joel tells that the shade is more for reading and is taken off when you want the maximum light.

    Damn mirror!
I hadnt even thought of that. You caught me Mike. The only difference is my morning is now after Noon. Ha.

My wife was on a kick for a while. Collecting a lot of those lamps. Some had been converted to electric but they were beautiful pieces of glass. Now, i think we only.have 3. Now, if i can get her to stop buying wooden bowls!
