Laurens, that last one reminded me of a sign in my shave-mentor's barbershop that read:
"Children left running loose and unattended will be towed away and stored at the owner's expense"
Both he and the shop closed many years ago; thanks for the reminder.

Flip side of the coin.
Was reminded of this at work the other day. Back when I was a baby squid in the USN attending my A school, our section Chief came in to give us one of his "straight up talks." That days subject was the value of Integrity. Many Sea Stories followed which illustrated the point. The lecture ended up with "Integrity is doing the right thing even when no one is watching."
Being fairly young and impressionable at the time, I tried to take this to heart. The next week during a test review, I noticed that I had been awarded more points for an answer than I deserved. I spoke to the Lt. after class and pointed out the mistake. Upon re-calculating my score I found out I had now failed the exam by 0.1 points. Sooo, having failed my test I had the pleasure of explaining myself to the Division Officer (very disappointed, try harder, make us proud...yada yada), and then my section chief (#@$%# ect...). Once my Chief calmed down, I timidly put forward the reason why I had "turned myself in". Upon hearing this, my Chiefs response was "Son, Integrity is like a bucket water, the more you use the less you have."
Being honest is well and good, but sometimes it pays to shut your mouth and keep walkingThe older I get the more I realize how little I actually know.

Never hold discussions with the monkey when the organ grinder is in the room.
-- Winston Churchill
I sent this to my brother in Baghdad earlier today.
He had mentioned in a note that he was feeling like the Organ Grinder's Monkey, doing backflips for coins...Support Movember!
